How Mova Pure Actually Came to Be
Three Entrepreneurs and a Wild Idea
Serial entrepreneurs by nature, always with an eye on the next thing. That is us—the father and sons in the house. A while back, we made up our minds: functional drinks and electrolytes, that is the market we want to enter. Almost everything out there on the market is full of junk and ridiculous amounts of the things your body actually needs. It could be done better. We got to work, and it did not take long before all three of us were completely pulled into the project.
The Pursuit of Knowledge and the First Obstacles
We were no nutrition experts to begin with. So we started researching. A lot of it: AI, supplier lists, raw material prices, and bottle machine suppliers. We already had water—Finland has the best in the world. That was the easy part. But we quickly realized that this project would blow the budget. Not just once—a hundred times over.
The Turning Point: Focusing on Clean Sachets
We saw a video featuring Simon Squibb—the guy who asks "do you have a dream?"—where the guys behind a brand called Sult came running up to him. We checked out their YouTube channel. Instantly, all three of us knew: sachets and electrolytes. That is what we are going to do. Make them clean. Make them better.
The Endless Kitchen Lab
What followed was an eternity-long deep dive and a full-time family project. We bought the wrong ingredients at first as we were learning more. We contacted supplier after supplier—within the EU, nobody wants to touch a startup, so we had to turn to Asia. Sample after sample. Recipe after recipe. We tested everything: erythritol, magnesium citrate, and stevia.
Then we found Thaumatin. In the very last batch, everything clicked. The taste was perfect, and the formula was completely clean.
The Bomb: Five Months of Work Up in Smoke
We sent an enthusiastic message to the supplier: "We are at the finish line. Now we are ordering the real batch—and letting an independent lab in Finland verify every ingredient once it arrives."
Then came the bomb.
"By the way, we have made some of our own blends and did not follow your recipe."
Five months of development. Thousands of euros. Up in smoke.
Our Promise: 100% Transparency or Nothing
The three of us sat down and discussed it. Can we launch this product on the market? No. We had already promised ourselves to be 100% transparent with what goes into every single sachet. A supplier that does this once is someone we can never trust. It was straight back to square one. But we knew more this time. A lot more.
The Expensive Path is the Only Right Path
We found a new supplier. More open, more eager, and noticeably more thorough. It cost us—the purchase price per sachet doubled compared to the previous supplier. We discussed it, the three of us. Then we decided: it does not matter. We are not doing this to take the cheap way out. We are doing it to do it right.
The only thing we were still missing back in the kitchen lab was Thaumatin—and it is not easy to get ahold of when the price is around €9,000 per kilo. Most suppliers will not even send samples. But the new supplier managed to source it through their own partner. Two weeks later, it was sitting on our kitchen table.
Micro-Precision and Honest Taste Testers
What followed was blend after blend in the home lab—we sat around the kitchen table with scales, pipettes, and notebooks. Thaumatin is extremely potent—0.5 grams dissolved in half a liter of water, then 4–6 ml of that solution per sachet. It requires pure precision work.
And when the blends were finally ready? That is when mom and the girlfriends entered the picture—as our first and most honest taste testers. No diplomatic responses allowed.
The Next Chapter: Batch 1 and the Future
Now the three of us are sitting and waiting for Batch 1. The real one. With the formula we know works—even if we admit with a smile that we do not know with 100% certainty exactly how the final result tastes. The lab in Finland will verify that every single ingredient is exactly what it is supposed to be. We will do the taste test ourselves the second the box lands on the doormat.
And when it does—that is when the next chapter begins. We want to develop Batch 2 together with you. Your flavors, your opinions, and your requests. That is how we want to build this—not in a laboratory far away, but together with the people who actually drink it every single day.
That is how Mova Pure came to be. It is not just one person's idea anymore, but a family project that started with a dream and survived every single setback because we were three. Not easy. Not cheap. But every single compromise we refused to make along the way is now inside the formula.
